Synopsis

The mural is part of the series of works that Yoseba calls “Fenómenos do rural” in which each painting pays tribute, in a peculiar way, to the women of the Galician countryside. They are portrayed as superheroines of everyday life, with superhuman powers and surreal and heterogeneous skills, as in this case where the protagonist uses her telekinetic powers for daily cooking.

Bio

Joseba Muruzábal, based in Santiago de Compostela, is one of the greatest exponents of contemporary painting in Galicia. His work is characterized by a marked realist style combined with surrealism, where he depicts everyday scenes using a highly evocative brushstroke with a strong photographic influence.
