A park with views

Via Porta do Camiño, going between the CGAC and the Convent of Bonaval, you come to Bonaval Park. Álvaro Siza and Isabel Aguirre designed in it a series of platforms and terraces, which are a real delight for photographs. These will feature the shadows of trees, the ruins of old convent buildings, a spring, the old cemetery with a solitary cypress… In the afternoon, there is a magical light that gives you a view of the monumental district with an eye-catching back light. The best time is in autumn, when the yellow, red and brown leaves dominate the scenery and the branches are beginning to bare themselves, revealing, in the background, towers and sturdy chimneys among the rooftops. Extraordinary views of the old from the oak grove and the neighbouring Rúa de Bonaval, which, in the afternoon, reflects the sunshine like few other streets.
