As part of the commemoration of the 65th anniversary of Operation Compostela, the preview screening of the documentary short Expediente Velo (2026), directed by Aser Álvarez (30 min.), will take place within the Philosophical Film Series of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Santiago de Compostela.
The event will be attended by the director, who will offer a brief guided tour of the exhibition Love Velo, currently on display at the entrance of the faculty. This will be followed by a presentation of the film, shot over the past ten years in Celanova, São Paulo, Caracas, Santiago de Compostela, Lisbon and other locations, and a subsequent discussion and debate on the value of utopia as a force for transforming reality.
This event is part of the programme “Xosé Velo: 65 Years of Operation Compostela”, a collective tribute to Xosé Velo Mosquera (1916–1972), Galician writer and political activist, and a key figure in the international action against the Franco and Salazar dictatorships.
