Coinciding with the Fifth Sunday of Lent, also called 'Lazarus Sunday' or 'Passion Sunday', which gives way to Holy Week with Palm Sunday, the Compostela neighbourhood of San Lázaro celebrates for three days one of its most traditional religious and gastronomic festivals, the "Festa da Uña".

Every year the fiesta includes various religious services in honour of San Lázaro and the traditional pilgrimage in which the great auction of hooves and other pieces of pork offered to the saint is held.

Hundreds of locals gather every year during these days in restaurants all over the neighbourhood, located on the French Way, to taste the traditional dish of the 'Festa da Uña' (pig's trotters) with cabbage bertones (usually served with chorizo and potatoes) and enjoy one of the oldest celebrations in the city.

The Fiesta da Uña 2026 is dedicated to five of the founders of the “Orde da Uña”, the association that organises the festive activities: Evaristo Carracedo, Ramón Carril, José Luis Míguez, Manuel Moure, and Pepe Puente.
