By the way... Abal&Bellas
Through the use of instruments with deep roots in traditional music, bagpipes and hurdy-gurdy, Abal&Bellas acquire a new language that allows them to explore different timbre and sound possibilities. This project tries to approach contemporary music through the adaptation of music already written for other ensembles or instruments (Stockhausen, Caldini, etc.), including premieres of compositions made specifically for this group (Bellas, Feles, etc.).
In this concert we will be able to approach bagpipe and hurdy-gurdy music through a language that approaches a contemporary aesthetic.

The “Xenerais da Ulla” is the most outstanding feature of the Ulla region’s traditional Carnival. It has been held in the surroundings of Santiago since the first half of the 19th century: the “Xenerais” (generals) ride on horseback, dressed in colourful military garments similar to those of that time, but they also include purely carnivalesque adornments, which the horses also wear.
