In the 16th century, a small community of nuns on the banks of the Minho River was threatened by the greed of the ecclesiastical hierarchy. The lords of the Church, in order to put an end to the resistance of the sisters, do not hesitate to defame and threaten them by all means, from the tribunal of the Inquisition to the violence of the lordly mesnadas. Carme Varela reconstructs in a convent thriller those times of resistance of the communities of self-sufficient and powerful women. Life seems to go on with its routines of prayers, embroidery and honeycombs, but the black shadow of the external threat falls over the convent of Albeos.
The heroic resistance of those nuns now comes to the theatre with a cast that includes Melania Cruz, Patricia Vázquez, Rebeca Montero, Rocío González, María Costas and Víctor Mosqueira, lit by Laura Iturralde and directed by Quico Cadaval.
