One of these shopping areas has a large number of shops and the particularity that it forms part of a World Heritage old town. This is called the 'Compostela Monumental' Open Shopping Centre. A large shopping area that, unlike traditional hypermarkets, has shops located throughout Compostela's old town.
Walking around the old town we can find practically the same things as in a conventional shopping centre, divided among small shops where the familiar treatment does justice to the quality of the products. Thanks to this association of shops, you will find the same services as in hypermarkets -discount car parking, home delivery, standardised signs, etc- which are provided by all of this open shopping centre's members.
Ethnographic, gift and souvenir shops, Galician fashion boutiques, jeweller's shops, boutiques, prestigious brands, traditional shops, book shops, gastronomic shops, supermarkets and shoe shops are an example of its potential. Furthermore, you will also find theatres, cafeterias, restaurants, exhibition halls and art galleries, which are located throughout the old town's main squares and thoroughfares: the streets or 'rúas' Nova, Vilar, San Pedro, Caldeirería, Preguntoiro and the squares Toural and Cervantes, along with the ones surrounding the cathedral, are the main areas.
