Theatrical adaptation of the Galician classic by Xosé Neira Vilas, directed by Cándido Pazó, with set design by Pablo Giráldez “O Pastor”, costumes by Martina Cambeiro, music by Xosé Lois Romero, and lighting by Afonso Castro.
Cast: Xúlio Abonjo, Manuel Cortés, Iris Darriba, Mónica García, Federico Pérez Rey, Santi Romay and Ana Santos.
The story follows Balbino, a village boy who grows up amid silence, hard work and obedience, offering a personal and collective memory of rural Galicia in the 1940s, filled with emotion, humor and humanity.

The “Xenerais da Ulla” is the most outstanding feature of the Ulla region’s traditional Carnival. It has been held in the surroundings of Santiago since the first half of the 19th century: the “Xenerais” (generals) ride on horseback, dressed in colourful military garments similar to those of that time, but they also include purely carnivalesque adornments, which the horses also wear.
The natural region of a Ulla features an original rural carnival, whose record goes back to the mid-19th century.
