We celebrate Castelao Year with an amusing version of Cousas in which the great themes of the original are present: ecology, solidarity, emigration, social justice... The donkey with a witty donkey from one of the stories, a transcript of Castelao himself, links the scenes which include O pai de Migueliño, A Marquesiña, O escuro caletre de Martiño...
The staging moves between tragedy, comedy and farce with the aim of respecting the language, the period and the atmosphere of Rianxo, the birthplace of an author full of personal, artistic and social sensitivity. Orjais, responsible for the Local Music Fund of Rianxo, incorporates a song by Aida Saco and pieces linked to Castelao such as ‘Alalá do mozo’, performed at the premiere in Buenos Aires of Os vellos non deben de namorarse or a Muiñeira sung by Castelao to Jesús Bal y Gay and included in his songbook.
