Before leaving for Argentina, Daniel disappears. His mother does not know where to look for him. The boy Castelao may be playing shipwrecks with the cortiza boats, or on the road to nowhere that his grandmother taught him, or up in the bell tower listening to the stories of Santa Compaña, or in the Cova dos Carcamáns, next to the enchanted lady who comes out to comb her hair early in the morning, or listening to the Saturday barber going deep, or painting the Carnival masks. And yes, the boy Castelao wanders around Rianxo, accompanied by Baltasara, who lives everywhere and has no home, drawing portraits to take with him to the other side of the ocean. That afternoon, Daniel and Baltasara turn the town upside down with their mischief, free and happy, and the sea awaits them.
There is little time left before Castelao and his mother leave for Arxentina.
