On Friday, March 13 at 7:30 p.m., the exhibition “Voluntades simultáneas” by Ferrol-based artists Sofía Piñeiro and Xabier Cano will open at the Hotel Virxe da Cerca in Santiago de Compostela. This exhibition is part of the 2011 agreement between Pousadas de Compostela and exhibition coordinator Cristina Carballedo Penelas, allowing professional artists to present contemporary works in the historic spaces of the 18th-century building.

Sofía Piñeiro (Ferrol, 1981) holds a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Castilla-La Mancha and is a drawing and painting teacher. Her work blends landscape poetics and everyday scenes with sarcastic and playful touches, using vibrant colors and fantasy-infused settings that challenge perceptions of reality.

Xabier Cano (Ferrol, 1984) is a freelance illustrator, painter, and interior architect. Trained in various artistic techniques, since 2021 he has been fully dedicated to artistic creation, fanzines, and illustrated publications. Both artists recently participated in exhibitions such as “Neoterritorios” at the Naval Construction Museum in Ferrol and will take part this summer in a collective show at the same museum about the Camino de Santiago and the solar eclipse.
