As a complement to the lecture on the American photographer given by Encarna Otero on Thursday, October 9th at 7:00 p.m., we invite you to join us on this two-hour tour, during which we will visit some of the spaces in our city that Ruth M. Anderson captured with her camera.
Ruth Matilda Anderson made five trips to Spain in the 1920s, including the city of Santiago de Compostela. Between 1924 and 1926, the American photographer traveled across the region, documenting everyday life, traditions, and the Galician landscape under the commission of The Hispanic Society of America. Her photographs, now part of a priceless historical archive, offer a unique visual testimony of rural and urban Galicia in the early 20th century.
For 35 participants aged 16 to 99. Interested persons can collect their invitation at the library’s Information Desk 30 minutes before the start of the activity.
