On Saturday, 13 September, at 12:30 pm, the Museo do Pobo Galego will host a performance by the traditional percussion group Raigañas, to be held in the Cloister Garden. In case of rain, the concert will move to the Auditorium of the Museo do Pobo Galego.
The Raigañas group was founded in 1994 within the Raigañas Youth Association, a cultural collective established in 1979 in the parish of Cerqueda (Malpica de Bergantiños), with the aim of collecting and preserving traditional music, particularly the musical heritage of Bergantiños. The group is made up of Olaya García, Sofía Vila, Helena Sanmamede, Susana Suárez, Ana Abelenda, Andrea Souto, Raquel Uxía Lema, Rosario Álvarez, Carme Álvarez, Uxía Corral and Mar Suárez, under the direction of Sonia Reborido.
Throughout their career, they have released an album, Baila que podes bailare, and have received several awards for their musical quality and for their work in preserving musical heritage. They have also taken part in various initiatives, such as the project Somos Pandeireteiras by Mercedes Peón.
Admission is free until full capacity is reached.
This event is part of the Museo do Pobo Galego’s programme for Letras Galegas 2025.
