Pint of Science is the world’s largest science communication festival, held in over 70 cities across Spain and 27 countries worldwide. This year marks its 10th edition, and on May 19, 20, and 21, 2025, Santiago will be one of the seven Galician host cities for this relaxed encounter between science and the public.

The event will take place at Café Bar Alborada de Veiga (Praza de Pascual Veiga, 4, local 8, 15706 Santiago de Compostela), starting at 6:30 PM, with free entry for all audiences, regardless of age or background, and will also be accessible to people with reduced mobility.

Twelve researchers will take part in this edition, sharing their work in an engaging and accessible way. For example, Jorge Mira will explain why at certain times of the year Galicia is the last place in continental Europe where the sun sets; Antía Lestido will explore invisible risks in our food, such as packaging contaminants or fraud; and Zulema Varela will show how trees, moss, or bird feathers can reveal pollution levels in the city. The festival will also feature a quantum magic show on the first day and a live podcast recording on the last, hosted by Juan Arias and Manuel Vicente.
