Pasos desde o Atlántico
The programme covers various composers who have developed their careers on both sides of the Atlantic. The overview of works helps to understand the different trends that shape musical creation at the turn of the century.
The American Cerrone was a disciple of Bresnick at Yale, as was the Galician Fernando Buide. Eduardo Soutullo, recently awarded the National Music Prize, belongs to the generation of Galician composers immediately before Buide.
Mercedes Zavala is one of the most active creators in Spain in recent decades and the Galician Carmen Rodríguez, with extensive compositional experience and great mastery of orchestration, creates music in which contemporary composition and film music coexist.
