We celebrated Poetry Day with the poetic-musical recital Os nomes íntimos by Lucía Aldao and Samuel Merino. The intimate names are the names that saved us, in which we celebrate, finding ourselves when we could not find representation of who we were in the contents we consumed (there was no internet).
Through the recitation of texts written by ourselves and/or others, we put the focus on people (authors, but also those everyday references that inspired us) with the aim of emphasising the importance of telling ourselves with other names and making them part of the construction of our own identity; and they were also the names that were given to us and given to us with more and less intention to do harm, those baptisms of appellatives without permission and against their will that highlighted something about us (or other people) that didn't define us, that made us ashamed or simply angry.
For audiences aged 14-99. Admission is free until full capacity is reached.
