I do not even know this, that I know nothing; I conjecture it, however, of myself and others. Let this proposition be my banner; this must be followed: Nothing is known. With these dubitative words begins the 16th century work Quodnihilscitur (That nothing is known) by Francisco Sanchez “The Skeptic”. An antecedent of Cartesian systematic doubt, of systematically questioning the world as a means of approaching reality without prejudice. In a society like ours, of imposed certainties, to doubt is revolutionary.
Starting from this point, two actresses and two actors review various visions of disability in classical theater, stopping at a modern adaptation written by Manuel Lourenzo of Philoctetes, one of Sophocles' Greek tragedies, which presents the idea of difference, of the discriminated person, different, that society does not know (or does not want) to include. From their own point of view, the cast resignifies these texts from that diversity, warning the public and society that nothing is known about what people with disabilities are, think, feel, want, and the position they wish to occupy in life, in society and in art.
