In this laboratory, Janet Novás shares the practice she has developed over the years as a dancer and performer, based on her own creations and collaborations with disciplines such as music, fashion, and cinema.
The artist understands the body as an archaeological space, full of layers that can be uncovered through movement. She proposes a process of physical and symbolic “excavation” guided by improvisation, where internal materials such as bones, fascia, emotions, imagination, and sounds are explored. The work also involves the voice, gaze, pause, listening, and awareness of the physical, energetic, emotional, and sonic bodies, with the aim of expanding the body’s potential as an expressive and creative tool.
