In keeping with the spirit of the European Music Day, which aims to offer free concerts open to the public, the Orfeón Terra a Nosa will perform the 18 motets by Marcial del Adalid. The concert will take place on June 21 at 9:00 p.m. in the Church of San Domingos de Bonaval.

Marcial del Adalid is one of the most important composers of his generation in Spain and, without a doubt, in Galician music. His works for piano and his music for piano and voice are frequently performed and have been recorded on various occasions, but his religious compositions—preserved in the Library of the Royal Galician Academy—have remained unpublished until now.

Throughout its 59-year history, the Orfeón Terra a Nosa has shown a strong commitment to the recovery and promotion of Galician musical heritage. On this occasion, under the direction of Luís Martínez and with the collaboration of Marcos Mato (editor and composer), the choir has led the review, modern edition, and recording of the pieces featured in the concert, which will soon be available on major streaming platforms.

The concert, a milestone in the recovery of 19th-century Galician music, will be held in a space of great artistic, aesthetic, and symbolic value: the Church of San Domingos de Bonaval. Special guests include David Ferreiro (tenor), Aida López and Aida Cruz (sopranos), and Juan Manuel Varela on piano.

This project is funded by the Regional Ministry of Culture, Language and Youth, and supported by the Archdiocese of Santiago de Compostela and the Museo do Pobo Galego.
