‘Violent, rude, lacking in respect and civility’ is the RAE's definition of “brute”. And that is, in a way, Nito's world: the neighbourhood where he lives, the people around him. That's why his entry into film school to study screenwriting leads him to take a leap towards another life: artistic, sophisticated.
This is the story of that transition and of what Nito leaves behind along the way: his best friend, his girlfriend, his family. Writing is what provokes the loss and, at the same time, the only thing that can perhaps keep all that alive, albeit in fiction.
