Iribarne is a guy born in the same town as Rouco Varela (yes: the cardinal) during the monarchy of Alfonso XIII (the first promoter of porn cinema in Spain?, yes-yes: that one). Emigrated to Cuba when he was only one year old -which coincided with the inauguration of Primo de Rivera's dictatorship-, and after doing the Americas for a couple of years, our protagonist returns triumphant to be the son of the mayor (and of the French woman). He starts high school at the beginning of the Second Republic, almost-almost becomes a priest during the Civil War but decides to flee to Madrid -following the trail of another illustrious Galician- as soon as the Era of the "Susodicho" (yes, of course: the Caudillísimo) is inaugurated. He tried so hard to be like him that sooner rather than later he became a minister in his term of office, despite having shot his daughter's ass two days earlier (but what are you talking about? Yes, yes: fact!). As the first and best opposition leader in Spain, he wanted to replace the Caudillo when he died. It was not possible: he did not go through the opposition. He had to settle for the post of vice-king in his beloved Terra Galega.
