Entroido 2026, one of Santiago’s most popular annual celebrations, will take place from 11 to 18 February with a programme full of humour, music and tradition. As every year, the Meco will be the central figure of the festivities, presiding over the celebrations and setting the irreverent tone of Compostela’s carnival. One of the most anticipated moments is the traditional Tuesday Entroido parade, which will fill the streets with dozens of troupes and groups from the city and from across Galicia, creating a vibrant display of colour, creativity and festivity.

he festivities open on Saturday with the proclamation by Coro da Rá at Praza do Toural. On Sunday, there will be street performances by Os Conformistas de Conxo and OCT Ultreia, as well as the children’s costume festival at Sala Capitol. On Monday, music and celebrations will fill the historic centre.

On Entroido Tuesday, the traditional grand parade will start at 5:30 pm from Avenida de Ferrol, featuring floats, comparsas and bands from across Galicia, followed by the awards ceremony at Sala Capitol. On Wednesday, the queima do Meco will take place at Praza Roxa, preceded by the funeral procession and performances by Cantigas e Agarimos.

The programme also includes the traditional Xenerais da Ulla celebrations, the Entroido of Conxo, and numerous workshops and activities in the sociocultural centres.
