On the centenary of the annexation of the municipality of Conxo to Compostela, this “faladoiro” (talk) reflects on the importance of its Psychiatric Hospital, a true echo chamber of the violence, anxieties, and utopias of modern Galician society. Built in 1885 as a private and religious clinic, it promoted the deforestation of the Conxo forest, denounced in Rosalía de Castro's On the Shores of the Sar.
The event features journalist and writer Montse Fajardo (author of Rotas. The Women Francoism Hid in Compostela, 2023), artist Marcelino de Santiago 'Kukas', creator of a series of portraits of Conxo’s patients displayed in the exhibition, and photographer Antonio Nodar, who will talk about his time learning with Félix Guattari at the Clinique de La Borde in France, alongside the curator and researcher Germán Labrador Méndez.
