We celebrate World Cinema Day with Cinema Marabillas, Ver para ler, led by Raquel Queizás.
We will enjoy watching the first film adaptations inspired by wonder tales and classic literary works.
The aim is to show children and their families that the stories they know can be told in different ways, and to help them discover that silent cinema is a form of expression that can be great fun. There will be no shortage of adventure, humour, mystery, tenderness, magic, fantasy and, above all, lots of imagination.
Literature is, and will always be, a major source of inspiration for cinema. Cinema can be read, too.
Alicia no País das Marabillas, Peter Pan, O Mago de Oz, Polgariño… The protagonists of these stories are girls and boys who have their own worries and think about the world they live in. They are strong, sensible and think for themselves. They reflect the developmental stages of the youngest audiences. They help nurture critical thinking and the ability to reflect on themes such as friendship, love, gender equality and respect for difference. These stories are born within us when we are children. A child loves to live adventures, explore new places, pretend to be a pirate…
For family audiences.
In the auditorium. Free admission until full capacity is reached.
