On Friday, November 14 at 8:00 p.m., Galería Luisa Pita opens Óxido, the third solo exhibition by artist Arturo Álvarez (Pontevedra, 1964). The show presents seven new sculptures made of iron and metal mesh, inaugurating a new line of research focused on materiality, time, and oxidation.
In Óxido, Álvarez reflects on deterioration and transformation as metaphors for contemporary society, while also pointing toward renewal and hope. Inspired by the natural processes of decay and regeneration, he offers a visual and symbolic journey that explores the expressive beauty and quiet strength of the material itself.
