The José Lorenzo Art Gallery hosts an unprecedented exhibition bringing together works from several generations of Galician creators, connecting the committed art of Castelao, the humanist and innovative legacy of Isaac Díaz Pardo, the disruptive momentum of the 1980s, and the proposals of the main representatives of the Galician avant-garde.

The exhibition offers a visual and emotional journey through Galician artistic thought, spanning from cultural struggle in exile to contemporary experimentation, and encompassing the movements that shook the art scene during the years of the Spanish transition and postmodernity.

Four themes, one collective narrative.

Castelao. Art and Conscience: A selection of original works by the intellectual and artist Alfonso Daniel Rodríguez Castelao, reflecting his political, social, and aesthetic commitment to Galicia and its people.

Isaac Díaz Pardo. The Factory of Thought: A carefully curated selection of works tracing his evolution as a painter, illustrating the multidisciplinary dimension of Díaz Pardo — founder of Sargadelos, visual artist, cultural entrepreneur, and a key figure in the recovery of Galician historical memory and 20th-century art.

This exhibition pays tribute to the last show held at the José Lorenzo Gallery, titled Xentes, and also to the exhibition curated by the José Lorenzo Gallery at Casa da Parra, titled Pintura e Fracasos.

The 1980s. Creative Explosion: A visual tribute to Galician art from the 1980s, a decade marked by effervescence, the blending of artistic languages, and the emergence of new voices during the democratic transition. Featured artists include Antón Goyanes, Lodeiro, Molezún, Luis Caruncho, Freixanes, and Lamazares.

Contemporary Avant-Garde: A collective exhibition featuring Galician artists whose works explore new artistic languages, showcasing the shifts in styles and artistic trends. This group exhibition includes works by Antonio Fernández, Germán Taibo, Juan Luis, Julia Minguillón, Pesqueira, Lago Rivera, Quessada, Tino Grandío, Colmeiro, and Laxeiro.

This exhibition is designed to immerse visitors in Galicia’s artistic soul.
