WOS Festival
NEXT EDITION: 2025
The WOS Festival is an annual indoor event that takes place in September in different spaces of high heritage value in Santiago de Compostela. The festival presents a broad multidisciplinary programme with a focus on electronic and avant-garde music, visual arts, film, installations, workshops and conferences.
The event defends a broad vision of alternative culture that allows to approach it from multiple perspectives, hosting in its programme innovative proposals around risk and exploration where leading international artists play a leading role in unique contexts, thus creating an unrepeatable atmosphere in each activity.WOS Festival is a project of the creative agency specialised in cultural management WORK ON SUNDAY and was born in 2016 with the aim of becoming a reference event at international level.

From Friday 29 November to Sunday 5 January you can enjoy the impressive nativity scene donated and assembled by the nativity scene maker José Uzal: more than 500 figures make up this nativity scene which includes different scenes, moving pieces and also special lighting and sound effects.

The “Xenerais da Ulla” is the most outstanding feature of the Ulla region’s traditional Carnival. It has been held in the surroundings of Santiago since the first half of the 19th century: the “Xenerais” (generals) ride on horseback, dressed in colourful military garments similar to those of that time, but they also include purely carnivalesque adornments, which the horses also wear.
