Traspielas is the new project by Su Garrido Pombo together with Macarena Montesinos (cello), Iago Ramilo (saxophone), Marco Maril (electronics) and Fran Rodríguez Casal (visuals). In this work, they celebrate the collective memory of a village through a musical, poetic and visual creation.
Drawing on traditional pieces collected in the village of Traspielas, and on projections featuring both current images and archival footage, artists with distinguished careers and diverse styles —including electronic music, experimentation and traditional music— come together to create a contemporary work.
The aim is to give new life to these songs in a multidisciplinary and contemporary artistic proposal that highlights the community and popular culture of a territory.
After taking part in the 2024 Mariñán Residencies, they were selected as a project at MUMI 2024 and Maré 2024, and are currently preparing their tour and the recording of their new album project.
