Priscilla Monge's work has often been included in the Latin American post-conceptual scene of the 1990s, but it must be borne in mind that in those years neither Costa Rica nor the Central American region to which she belongs figured on the maps of internationally recognised Latin American art.
Her pieces are situated between the significant verbal and visual dimensions of signs and representations. As she herself states: "They are in a fractal space, that space between the word and the image and vice versa. It is in that limit where art generates a safe place of spiritual search and surely of change".
