At the heart of the 8-point garden is the traditional Christmas tree, a 20-metre tree integrated into a space for children's entertainment. Next to this tree, the square has a light show on the façade of the Pazo de Raxoi and a wooden Ferris wheel.

- From 29 November to 19 December: open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 5.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.
- From 20th December to 5th January: open from Monday to Sunday from 5.30 pm to 8.30 pm.
- 24, 25 and 31 December and 1 January: closed.

From Friday 29 November to Sunday 5 January you can enjoy the impressive nativity scene donated and assembled by the nativity scene maker José Uzal: more than 500 figures make up this nativity scene which includes different scenes, moving pieces and also special lighting and sound effects.

The “Xenerais da Ulla” is the most outstanding feature of the Ulla region’s traditional Carnival. It has been held in the surroundings of Santiago since the first half of the 19th century: the “Xenerais” (generals) ride on horseback, dressed in colourful military garments similar to those of that time, but they also include purely carnivalesque adornments, which the horses also wear.
