A new exhibition will focus on Jorge Agra’s pop art and the realism of Óscar Aldonza’s sculptures.
Jorge Agra began his artistic journey in the 1970s while studying in Madrid. By the 1980s, he had come into contact with other artists such as Antón Reixa, Carlos Berride, Antón Patiño, and Menchu Lamas, with whom he collaborated. Within this cultural world, he was strongly influenced by Equipo Crónica and American Pop Art. From these inspirations, Jorge Agra developed his own style, a depiction of various icons from television, cinema, magazines, and culture, blended with satirical touches. The exhibition features some of his most characteristic canvases, showcasing the essence of his work.
Accompanying this pictorial display are the works of Óscar Aldonza, a collection of pieces from different stages and influences, highlighting the artist's multidisciplinary approach. The exhibition presents realistic works in terracotta, installations, and bronze sculptures. Through his art, the artist invites us to reflect on themes such as love, gender, and universal topics.
