With relevant individual careers, Concha Jerez (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, 1941) and José Iges (Madrid, 1951) have developed in parallel, for more than three decades, a common production that is contaminated and enriched by the difference of their respective languages. Based on the concept of resignification, this joint exhibition brings together works produced between 1989 and 2023. Under this idea, what Iges and Jerez propose is, in their own words, "an operation that makes it possible to assign to an object, medium or situation hitherto unexpected, unforeseen qualities". Underlying the philosophy of these works are approaches enunciated by Guy Debord both in his book The Society of the Spectacle (1967) and in his film work.
