As part of the Contemporáneas 2025-2026 series, Compostela In-audita is a project of listening, documentation and artistic transformation of Santiago de Compostela’s contemporary sound heritage, materialised in a 60-minute audiovisual concert created from images and sounds recorded in the streets and parishes of the city during a Residencia Rega at the Gaiás in 2022.
The screening of this sound film is accompanied in concert by Nacho Muñoz’s own music (electronics and voice) and the live audiovisual performance (live cinema) by award-winning Galician filmmaker and creator Roi Fernández.
The initiative forms part of the artistic research process Sonic Parkour, developed by Nacho Muñoz in recent years, which explores how we relate to territory through its soundscape, moving transversally across disciplines such as anthropology, urbanism, architecture, public space, sound art, intangible heritage, urban and visual arts, live cinema, video art, walking art, acousmatics and acoustics.
With this original musical recreation of Santiago’s sound imagination, Compostela In-audita offers an approach to the city’s identity and spirituality through attentive listening, highlighting the specific sound features of each place and the auditory sensations that define the chosen locations.
