A unique blend of Turkish folk and psychedelia, backed by cheerful pop hooks, the Dutch band Altın Gün brings something different to the table. Bassist Jasper Verhulst set out to revitalize the Anatolian rock of the 1970s that he first heard while performing in Istanbul, with themes of love, death, and traditional folk tales at the forefront. A Grammy nomination for Gece in 2018 did not pull the band away from their humble roots, as you can still find them mingling with fans at shows before taking the stage.
