Compostela-born artist Ana Moure Rosende presents at Zona C Accumulations of a Very Past Present, an installation developed with the artistic research collective La cuarta piel.
The work imagines an expedition into future geological formations that will emerge from accumulated urban waste, inviting visitors to view the remnants of contemporary life as part of a landscape yet to come. Using materials in various stages of disintegration, the project explores how treasured objects and discarded matter will ultimately become layers of an artificial landscape that will endure for thousands of years. The installation reflects on the global waste-management collapse, the tension between what society hides and what it idealises, and the new “mountain ranges” shaped by human activity.
La cuarta piel, founded in 2020 in Alicante, studies ecosocial relationships in contemporary landscapes and promotes situated, ecologically sensitive processes, with work shown at institutions such as the Thyssen Museum, La Casa Encendida and IVAM.
