The Escola de Altos Estudos Musicais will offer a series of concerts as part of the training programme for students of the Advanced Course in Orchestral Specialisation (CAEO). This initiative, part of the “A Escola na Cidade” cycle, will take place in the Auditorium of the USC Faculty of History at 7:30 p.m. on June 4, 5, 9, 10 and 11. The performances mark the culmination of the students’ studies, and they will be accompanied by their respective tutors.

On Monday, June 9, viola student Inês Fernando and trumpet student Óscar Rial Salgueiro will perform, presenting works by Franz Schubert and Franz Joseph Haydn, respectively. Then on Tuesday, June 10, it will be the turn of violinist Yiran Niu, joined by double bassist Irene Sancho Álvarez and percussionist Jorge Denís Sanromán. Niu will perform works by Johann Sebastian Bach and Max Bruch, Sancho will present pieces by Adolf Misek and Serge Koussevitzky, and Denís will interpret works by Jan Freicher, Casey Cangelosi and Emmanuel Séjourné.

The final concert in this series will take place on Wednesday, June 11, featuring Esther Fernández González and Erika García on cello and clarinet, respectively. Fernández will perform works by Franz Joseph Haydn, Gaspar Cassadó and César Franck, while García will present pieces by Robert Schumann, Francis Poulenc and Bruno Mantovani.
