The Escola de Altos Estudos Musicais will offer a series of concerts as part of the training programme for students of the Advanced Course in Orchestral Specialisation (CAEO). This initiative, part of the “A Escola na Cidade” cycle, will take place in the Auditorium of the USC Faculty of History at 7:30 p.m. on June 4, 5, 9, 10 and 11. The performances mark the culmination of the students’ studies, and they will be accompanied by their respective tutors.

The first concert, on Wednesday, June 4, will feature students Xiana Baliñas and Francisco Javier Ruiz Rivas, on viola and oboe, respectively. On this occasion, Baliñas will perform works by Robert Schumann and Johann Nepomuk Hummel, while Ruiz will present pieces by Georg Philipp Telemann, Amadeus Mozart and Richard Strauss.

Next, on Thursday, June 5, it will be the turn of students Pero Budiño Pinaque (violin), Roi Guzmán Gómez (horn) and Belén Aragunde Canabal (flute). Budiño will perform works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Claude Debussy and Johannes Brahms, while Guzmán will present compositions by Reinhold Glière. The evening will conclude with Aragunde performing works by Giacinto Scelsi, Pierre Sancan and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
