Very close to Santiago: Touro

The A Santaia recreational area is located in the parish of Touro, in the town of the same name. It is equipped with lighting, benches, tables, barbecues and a fantastic swimming area along the riverbank, as well as a bridge leading to a small islet in the middle of the river. There is also a small cascade and a waterwheel, apart from an extensive carballeira (oak grove) and riverside forest.

Ideal as a recreational and fishing area.

This area is the starting point of the PR-Gr 121 Three Rivers Route. It is relatively close to the village of Fonte Díaz and the “A Praza do Luar” camper service area.

How to get there
It can be reached, from Touro, via the AC-240 road, passing through the village of A Santaia and taking the first turn-off on the right (AC-0605) towards Andeade and Calvos.

The area is easily accessed and is visible from the road. It can be reached by car, with a large area for parking.

NOTE: The exact coordinates of all the municipality of Touro’s recreational areas are available in an application for mobile phones.
