Spain 's extensive business hours range, from Monday to Saturday, from 9.30 or 10 am to 8 or 9 pm, with a two- or three-hour lunch break, normally from 1.30 or 2 pm to 4.30 or 5 pm. Some shops do not close at midday and others, especially in the Área Central, Cancelas and Compostela shopping centres, are open on some Sundays and public holidays during the Christmas season or the sales (from January to March and from July to September).
Methods of Payment:
Most shops accept Spanish debit cards (Servired, 4B, Euro 6000) and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard or similar), which can also be used to withdraw money from ATMs.
Tax Free Shoping
Non-European Union residents are entitled to a VAT (valued-added tax) refund for each purchase above 90 euros. This refund can be obtained in shops with a “Tax-Free Shopping” sign.
