The Natural History Museum of the USC hosts the exhibition 'Parellas imposibles: xuntos, só aquí e agora', a pictorial proposal by Mª de la Soledad Ruiz Álvarez (Madrid, 1946). The author, PhD in Biology and professor at the Universities of Vigo and Santiago, participated as an illustrator of science in various publications in the field of Biology, and as a painter she collaborated in various group exhibitions.
In this exhibition there are twelve works in acrylic on canvas, in which 24 species of vertebrates from the Galician and exotic fauna are represented. The author leads us along a path where these species coexist as "impossible couples". Some because of their antagonistic predator-prey relationships and others because they are geographically distant, inhabiting ecosystems with very different characteristics and climates.
