On the occasion of the celebration of Alzheimer's month, with the commemoration of its world day on 21 September, the artistic exhibition Entre presenzas e ausencias, curated by the artist Beatriz S. Saá, is organised.
The exhibition is composed of more than seventy works made by Alzheimer's patients in moderate-advanced stage, and their caregivers and ex-caregivers, in the artistic didactic programme CoidArte, designed and implemented by the artist and teacher Beatriz S. Saá, a few months ago. The result of her research in the area of art and health and made in collaboration with AGADEA (Asociación Galega de Axuda aos Enfermos con Demencia Tipo Alzhéimer). This exhibition is made with the intention of destigmatising and giving visibility to the important work that carers carry out on a daily basis in relation to Alzheimer's disease, in which the patients, already in advanced stages, depend completely on these figures.
