The exhibition "Endangered Emotions" brings together images from Flach's Threatened project, which led the photographer to portray endangered species around the world. Instead of framing them in their natural habitat, Tim Flach chose to portray them against neutral backgrounds, emphasising the personality of each species and in some cases showing attitudes and emotions that we usually associate with humans. "I have tried to bridge the gap and invite equality by creating portraits of animals with a style of representation usually associated with humans to emphasise their character and personality."
In the exhibition, Tim Flach incorporates specific information about the situation and dangers threatening each of the species portrayed. Each portrait is accompanied by an information sheet produced by the world's largest environmental organisation, the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature). The IUCN information indicates the level of risk of extinction of the species according to the organisation's red list. In addition to the scientific name and the geographical area to which each animal belongs, the portraits are accompanied by an explanatory text about the species.
