From November 9 to 25, the event will bring 115 films to theaters in Compostela and numerous parallel activities, with concerts and special screenings, round tables and workshops on cinema. In 2023, the Cineuropa Awards will honor the careers of actor Luis Zahera, Portuguese director João Canijo and actress Ana Torrent. Cineuropa 37 also commemorates the centenary of the birth of Jorge Semprún, with the presence of filmmaker Costa-Gavras, and encourages reflection on the history of democracy in Argentina and the Pinochet dictatorship in Chile.
The Teatro Principal, the Salón Teatro, the Auditorio de Galicia, NUMAX, Multicines Compostela, CGAC and Zona C will host the screenings and activities of this edition. Tickets and vouchers will be on sale from Tuesday 7 in Zone C and on the website compostelacultura.gal.
Cineuropa is a festival organized by the City Council of Santiago with the collaboration of the Consortium of Santiago and the Provincial Council of A Coruña. In its 37th edition it also has the support of the Xunta de Galicia, the Consulate of the Argentine Republic in Vigo or the Camões Institute, and the sponsorship of companies such as Yáñez, Paco e Lola, Unicla, Martín Codax and Cafés Candelas.
