This original proposal devised by the musician, choreographer and dancer, specialised in historical dance, Eva Narejos, in collaboration with the organist Ana Aguado, tries to bring us closer to the figure of Teresa de Cepeda y Ahumada, born in Ávila on 28 March 1515, taking us through different episodes of the saint's life.
The energetic voice of the organ and dance will be the common thread that materialises the desire for union between the divine and the human, which was present throughout her life and which she tried to transmit through her writings. The choreographic work is based on the reconstruction of dances from the Golden Age from original sources collected in documents from the Iberian school of dance, such as the treatise by Esquivel Navarro (1624), the manuscript by Juan Antonio Jaque, from the mid-17th century, or the treatise by Pablo Minguet e Irol, from the 18th century. There will also be other choreographies, created by Eva Narejos, based on the choreographic language of the period. The dances will be performed, among others, to the music of Antonio de Cabezón, Pablo Bruna, Antonio Martín y Coll or melodies from the Cantigas de Santa María.
