A cathedral is a large church. Its name comes from the Latin word “cathedral,” chair, since, according to tradition, the archbishop should preside the services from his special chair in the choir. As the main church in a diocese, the cathedral is a very important place for seeking God and finding oneself. A lot of masses are celebrated throughout the day in cathedrals. That is why it is important to visit them respectfully and silently.
