This is the closest one to the city, approx. 10 km away. The recreational area covers both riverbanks and includes small river islands, linked together by wooden bridges, which make up a pleasant walk. There are many shady areas, a picnic area, tables with chess and draughts boards, a volleyball area, a car park with bicycle spaces, a small cafeteria (open in summer) and a refuge for fishermen. In summer it has lifeguard service,
The “Festa do Escalo” (Chub Festival) is held here in July. This is a good place for bird watching, especially for herons.
