Writer, artist, draftsman -he was a Drawing teacher at Pontevedra’s Institute-. His written work and his drawings have caricaturesque overtones, as well as Valle-Inclán’s work. He was member of 'Acción Gallega' movement, which aimed to wake peasantry up and take it out of its miserable situation. He was elected deputy of the 'Partido Galleguista' for the Spanish Courts twice and he was member of the Republican government during José Giral’s exile in Paris. He is a basic referent of 'galleguismo'. Monument by Francisco Leiro (1995).
