It is a modernist building with only one floor. It has a frontal terrace and two more at both sides. It was promoted by the 'Sociedad de Recreo Artístico e Industrial de Santiago' in order to house exhibitions and other acts. For some time, it was a Local Laboratory but since mid-1970s it is a nursery school. The façade is decorated with different motifs, including Saint James’ scallop shell. It was planed by Antonio Palacios Ramilo and built by the master builder Manuel Pereiro Caeiro.
