Primrose jasmine

Jasminum mesnyi Hance

Name justification:
It seems that the genus derives from the Arab-Persian yâsimîn or, from the Spanish jazmín.
Mesnyi was named after Willian Mesny (1842-1919), explorer in China who sent plant material to the botanist Henry Fletcher Hance, British consul in Canton.

Origin and distribution:
It comes from China.

Location in the garden:
There are only two specimens, one at both sides of the beginning of the staircase located at the end of the 'Alameda' Park, next to the spouted fountain.
