On January 31, at the Galician stand in FITUR (international tourism fair), Santiago de Compostela City Council and the European programme Cultural European Routes – CERTO presented the new European Cultural Itineraries tour box, an initiative co-financed by the European Union.

The tour box prototype was created to highlight cooperation among the three European Cultural Itineraries: the Way of St. James, the Via Francigena and the Route of St. Olav, thanks to collaboration among Routes of Europe G.E.I.E. (Certo Project leader), the European Institute of Cultural Itineraries, Santiago de Compostela City Council, the European Association of the Via Francigena and the Nidaros Pilgrim Centre. Starting in spring, thanks to the joint work of Route of Europe G.E.I.E. and Eatinerari, the tour box will be marked in Italy.

The FITUR presentation featured the participation of Reyes Leis, Santiago de Compostela’s Tourism Councillor; Penelope Denu, director of the European Institute of Cultural Itineraries; Alessandro Cardinali, president of Routes of Europe G.E.I.E.; Silvia Lecci, Project Manager of the European Association of the Via Francigena; Giovanni Pattoneri, Certo Project coordinator and general secretary of Routes of Europe G.E.I.E.; and Diego di Paolo, Product Manager of Eatinerari and Routes of Europe.
